Ffixxed
Ffixxed are currently based in Shenzhen, China by way of Berlin and New York, which is transmuted into a range of projects and collections. Australians Kain Picken and Fiona Lau bring a global mindset to their design and art studio, but produce their garments in-house in their own live/work facility. Their preoccupation is with the role of clothing in relation to the circumstances of every day life—climate, work, relationships, politics—to re-imagine the dominant culture. Their work often results in fashion, made with a combination of personal technique and classic tailoring, conceptual and cultural influences. They have an interesting way of making straightforward clothes that surprise you with their complicatedness.
