NYC-based designer Sandy Liang uses a common language across sportswear, evening, work, and play. The key being that there are no longer such turgid designations between those classes. She brings a sense of play to it all, whether through color or unexpected details. She doles out desirability judiciously, displaying a specific wit and worldview in her embroideries and accents, even managing to convey an opinion through a sleeve length or trouser width. She keeps her collections tight and meaningful, with each piece holding enough water to play a key role within any wardrobe.
